Acne Treatment

Acne is a common skin condition that happens when hair follicles under the skin become clogged. Oil and dead skin cells plug the pores, and outbreaks of lesions (often called pimples or zits) can happen. Most often, the outbreaks occur on the face but can also appear on the back, chest, and shoulders.

For most people, acne tends to go away by the time they reach their thirties, but some people in their forties and fifties continue to have this skin problem.

TREATMENTS:

MICRONEEDLING RADIO FREQUENCY :

Microneedling uses the skin’s natural collagen-producing abilities to treat certain skin conditions. The procedure uses needles to create “micro” punctures in the skin that in turn promote collagen production and skin healing. MNFR treatment can be considered as an effective modality of treatment for moderate to severe acne scars in patients with an added advantage of minimal downtime and effective improvement.Micro needling fractional radiofrequency (MFR) has been shown to be clinically efficient in managing acne scars without causing direct damage to the epidermis.MFR device works by creating radiofrequency thermal zones without epidermal injury.

DERMAROLLER TREATMENT

Derma roller therapy can help increasing collagen production which in turn cures acne scars, wrinkles and rejuvinates skin. For radiant, smoother and younger looking skin, dermaroller treatment is the go to choice. It also helps increasing blood supply and activates wound healing. In dermaroller treatment, the needles reach the deeper layers of the skin where collagen and elastin are produced.

Q switched ND : YAG laser

A Q-Switched Laser (aka Q-Switched Nd-Yag Laser) is used in various types of procedures. The laser is a beam of energy at a specific wavelength (1064nm) applied to the skin and absorbed by coloured pigments such as freckles, sun spots, age spots, etc. in the skin. This fragments the pigmentation and helps it get broken down by the body. The power settings of the laser can be set at different levels and frequencies to accommodate specific conditions and expectations.

CHEMICAL PEELS

Chemical peels work by removing the top layer of skin, allowing new, healthy skin to present.

A peek into the potential benefits chemical peels can have on acne-prone skin include:

  • smoother texture and tone
  • lightening of dark spots
  • unclogging of pores to help prevent future breakout

Frequently Asked Questions

Researchers say foods high in fat, sugar, and dairy ingredients can raise the risk of adult acne. Foods such as milk chocolate, french fries, and sugary drinks are among those that can increase acne risk.

Masturbation does not cause acne. Hormonal changes may contribute to the development of acne, and masturbation can also cause changes in hormone levels, but these disappear after ejaculation.

Just before your period starts, estrogen and progesterone levels drop. This can trigger your sebaceous glands to secrete more sebum, an oily substance that lubricates your skin. Too much can result in clogged pores and breakouts. Hormones can also increase skin inflammation and the production of acne-causing bacteria.

If you've been treating your acne consistently and your breakouts aren't getting better, or if your acne seems to be worsening, you should contact your doctor.

Some cosmetics can cause acne. When this happens, you develop a type of acne called acne cosmetica. Even women who would not otherwise have acne can develop acne cosmetica from wearing makeup.

Zinc is a mineral that can also help with acne. You can take it as an oral supplement or as a topical treatment. A recent review of the past studies on the topic found that zinc can decrease oil production in the skin, and can protect against bacterial infection and inflammation.

Acne commonly starts during puberty between the ages of 10 and 13 and tends to be worse in people with oily skin. Teenage acne usually lasts for five to 10 years, normally going away during the early 20s.

You should never be ashamed or insecure about your acne because it's completely natural and you're stunning with and without it.

It's usually not a sign of anything serious. But some experts think it might predict your chances of getting certain cancers. In other cases, some think acne may come as a result of cancer.
