Dark circles under the lower eyelids are common in men and women. Often accompanied by bags, dark circles can make you appear older than you are. To make matters worse, they can be difficult to get rid of.

Chemical Peel is one of the most common and effective treatments for under-eye dark circles. The procedure uses alpha hydroxy acids, for example glycolic acid, that is useful in lightening hyperpigmentation under the eyes.

A tear trough filler is an injectable treatment that’s used under the eyes. Its purpose is to add volume beneath the eyelids. The product most often used in this area is one typically made of hyaluronic acid, although other ingredients may be used.

There are a number of ways that people report they’ve eliminated or reduced the appearance of dark circles under their eyes. Everybody is different, so some of these remedies might not work for you.

Some ways are getting enough sleep, reduce exposure to sun, moisturizers, cucumbers, almond oil, vitamin E and K and going for treatment from doctors.



Although dark circles under your eyes are most commonly caused by fatigue, there are other causes as well, including:

allergies, allergic rhinitis (hay fever), atopic dermatitis (eczema), contact dermatitis, heredity, pigmentation irregularities, scratching or rubbing eyes, sun exposure



Some treatments are applying skin-lightening creams, laser therapy, chemical peels, blepharoplasty, fillers.



Dark circles under your eyes happen when the skin beneath both eyes appears darkened. It's different from bruising around one eye from an injury or redness and swelling in one eye caused by an infection. Dark circles under your eyes usually are not a sign of a medical problem.

Genetics: Dark circles can be hereditary. Research has found that if someone has dark circles under their eyes, these also appear in some other family members.



Aloe vera gel works like magic for nearly all skin problems. If you find it soothing and if it works perfectly well for your skin type, apply aloe vera gel under your eyes and leave it overnight. It may be effective in naturally reducing dark circles.



Dark circles, when accompanied by dizziness, tiredness and fatigue could point towards iron deficiency. If you are deficient in iron, the supply of oxygen to the body tissues is hampered. This makes the skin appear paler, making your dark circles look more pronounced.



Sunflower oil, corn, spinach, and almonds are great sources of vitamin E. Vitamin K is another nutrient that is known for its ability to repair damaged skin and and heal skin's injuries. Eating vitamin K on a daily basis will particularly help with the disappearance of your dark circles.
