Frequently Asked Questions

Lip augmentation is a type of procedure that aims to increase lip fullness through enlargement using fillers such as hyaluronic acid, fat or implants.

The procedure involves injecting one of several types of fillers into the lips. As we age, we naturally lose collagen and fat. This leads to thinness and sagginess of the face, including the lips. Lip fillers work by replacing that lost collagen and fat.

You may have minimal swelling in the injection area or across your lips at first, but once that subsides, you should not be able to feel the filler in your lips.

Recovery time is typically one day, however bruising, swelling, and soreness can occur for up to one week.

If you get your lips filled and instantly hate it or it doesn't go quite to plan, your doctor will be able to dissolve it with an injection called hyaluronidase which acts as a reversing agent and breaks down the hyaluronic acid so your lips will be back to normal within 3 -4 days.

Your body absorbs the filler over time. Fillers last approximately 6-12 months.

lip fillers — particularly hyaluronic acid fillers — are safe products. So as long as you choose an expert, you should feel secure with your treatment.
