Skin Boosters

Skin boosters are essentially vitalizing dermal fillers that revitalize the skin, improving its appearance, texture and slows down the ageing process from within. Unlike other dermal fillers, skin boosters do nothing for contouring or shaping the facial structure, and they can be applied anywhere on the face, neck or hands.

TREATMENTS:

Each type of skin booster contains different primary ingredients that are suited for different skin goals. In general, all skin boosters contain hyaluronic acid (HLA) – the primary molecule in your tissue repair system – but they don’t all carry the same amount.

For example, the latest skin booster Profhilo is made up of complex hyaluronic acid (HA) molecules – a blend of high molecular weight and low molecular weight HA. This amalgamation allows easier penetration of the epidermis skin layer into the dermis layer, where the magic will take place.

In another popular skin booster, Rejuran Healer, the key ingredient is the all-encompassing salmon DNA. This is transdermally delivered into the skin dermis layer, releasing moisturizing and anti-oxidant properties that results in glowing, dewy-textured skin.

While research continues to find innovative ways to keep the skin looking young, injectable and needleless Rejuran Healer still remains a promising solution in the age-old quest towards ageless skin, thanks to its tissue-healing and anti-inflammatory properties.

Other types of skin boosters that are fairly sought-after also include:

  • Profhilo
  • Jalupro
  • Restylane

Frequently Asked Questions

Skin Boosters are a dermal filler designed to be injected superficially into the surface of the skin to produce skin hydration and glow.

This treatment is suitable for all patients who are not pregnant or breastfeeding. It is recommended for patients who want to improve the overall quality and the degree of hydration of their skin. The skin booster treatment is not intended to fill lines and wrinkles.

Skin Booster treatment is a non-surgical skin rejuvenation treatment aimed at diminishing problem areas on the face and body. It can be used for face, neck, under-eye, Décolleté and hand rejuvenation.

Skin Boosters are micro-injections of dermal fillers in the skin. Unlike traditional dermal fillers, they are not injected beneath the skin to volumize or shape the face.  Instead, they are very fine dermal fillers that are injected into the skin to hydrate and improve skin quality. This type of dermal filler can be injected over large treatment areas of the face, neck, and hands to increase the skin’s hydration quality.  During the treatment, the multiple injections activate the fibroblasts promoting new collagen and elastin formation. The result is healthy-looking, glowing and plump skin.

Results can last up to 9 months, however after the initial treatments many patients will have a top up treatment at about 9–12 months.

We recommend ceasing any medications or supplements that may thin the blood up to 2 weeks prior to treatment. If you are on prescription medications – this must be cleared by your doctor before ceasing. Doing this will reduce the risk of bruising. Any topical retinol creams (vitamin A) should be ceased 5 days prior to treatment also. Numbing cream will be applied to the area 30 mins prior also.

After the numbing cream is taken off the area will be disinfected with chlorhexidine to reduce the chance of infection. Small micro punctures will be made to place the product intradermally.

After the treatment the area will be slightly swollen and small lumps may be evident on the skin, these lumps will begin to reside within a few days.

With any form of injectables there carries risks. The most common side effects are bruising and swelling and the less common side effects can include infections and granulomas. If you notice anything unusual you should contact the clinic immediately.
